Job Safety Analysis (JSA) - The Loading/Offloading deck cargo JSA must be completed by the entire Pioneer crew every day before any work is performed. The Night Lead must review JSA with his crew as well. The Lead rigger is responsible for all parties involved in operations be in attendance for JSA meeting.
Rigger Checklist / Pre Job Safety Meeting Checklist - The Lead rigger is responsible of ensuring all equipment and cargo are inspected before being lifting. The Pioneer rigger checklist will be completed prior to any lift being attached. All equipment, cargo, and rigging gear will be inspected prior to being lifted. The lead is responsible for ensuring that all equipment and cargo will not be lifted if the rigging gear does not meet or exceed our clients specified requirements for lifting gear. The Lead Rigger is responsible for completing any and all documentation (rigger checklist).
Observations (STEP Cards) - Pioneer encourages every member of our marine division to be involved with our Behavior Based Safety policies and procedures (STEP) program. This is tracked and the information is used to identify safety trends. Safety Through Employee Participation plays a key role in ensuring our employees and co-workers go home to their families safely.
Safety Meeting Reports - A formal safety meeting will be held once a week on all vessels. You can choose whatever topic you think is best at the time of the meeting. Review the following weekly (STEP) cards to see if there is something that needs to be addressed from the following week. Make sure every member everyone of Pioneer members are in attendance at the weekly safety meeting and that they sign the safety meeting sheet.
Accident Reports - In case of an incident or accident our lead rigger or rigger notifies our office immediately. Our leads are trained to gather as much information about the incident or accident when it occurs. . Emergency Contact (985) 532-2577
Evaluations - The Lead Rigger reports to the Captain on a daily basis while onboard his/her vessel. He will ask the captain for an evaluation to be completed on himself and the rigging crew before departing the vessel.
Disciplinary Action Forms - This form is to be filled out by our Lead Rigger / Supervisor in the event a Pioneer employee abuse the following
- Safety
- Insubordination
- Conduct
- Housekeeping
- Tardiness
- Uniform/Proper work attire
